Your First 5" Freestyle Build
Welcome to FPV. This guide takes you from a pile of components to your first hover.
What you need
- 5" frame (TBS Source One V5 is a great starter)
- 4× 22-26 size brushless motors (1750-2400 KV for 4S/6S)
- 4-in-1 ESC (35-50A)
- Flight controller (F405 / F722 / H7)
- VTX + camera
- Receiver (ELRS recommended)
Order of assembly
1. Mount the camera mount and standoffs to the frame. 2. Solder motors to the ESC. 3. Stack FC on top of ESC, route the 8-pin cable. 4. Solder XT60 + cap on ESC battery pads. 5. Bind RX, mount it, route signal wire to FC. 6. Mount VTX, antenna, camera. 7. Power on without props, check Betaflight Configurator.
First flight checklist
